Liked: Constantin and his mother helped me and gave good advice about sightseeing in Bucharest. Also they provide a very nourishing breakfast of omlette and good coffee. There is a PC and multi - channel large screen TV in the dorm room. But this is really a cool living room with leather sofa. I was lucky and was alone on my visit, There is a decent food market and 2 good cheap resturants close by.

Disliked: Like 95% of Bucharest ,it is best to be back indoors by 10pm. Many places close by then, It pays to draw a small map as a reminder as the tall tower blocks can all look the same on the dark. There are many stray dogs around and they bark loudly at night though they do not seem to be dangerous. Just keep a distance! These are just observations on Bucharest and not the Hostel Tina.

Liked: this was one of the best hostels iv ever stayed in. the host and his mother were great. the place was kept spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable.the only bad thing was that it was very quiet when i was staying there so if you're travelling by yourself it might be a bit quiet. Apart from that though it was great. would definitely stay there again!

Host Constantin is very friendly, generous, helpful but especially a fantastic cook! You can get amazing breakfast individually cooked whenever you want, free coffee/tea all the time, free internet in room, and free laundry. The place is cheap, clean and relaxed. It's like to visit a good friend, and you feel at home. Hostel is close to a Metro stop and a food market. Highly recommended! -It's a very small hostel, so the experience is more like staying in someone's home. -The host (Constantin) and his mother are extremely nice, and can give good suggestions about places to go in the area, restaurants etc.. Constantin also recommended a movie for us when it was raining. -We got to the hostel very early in the morning, but were able to check in immediately. -Very clean -Breakfast is an omelette, which is a nice change from the usual hostel fare -Free tea/coffee and internet

Excellent facilities with a very welcoming staff to boot. I've stayed in Bucharest many times and this is by far the best option if you're bored with soulless hotels and looking for somewhere with a homely atmosphere. The breakfast is a real boon as are the facilities on offer. Constantin and his mum pay a real attention to detail and it's obvious they've had a considerable experience in hosting tourists. If you want a launch pad to explore the city with a base where you can share your experiences, and to be able to ask for advice Hostel Tina is definitely the place to stay.

This was a good hostel. Not in the city centre, but a fairly quick walk and train ride away (about 20-25mins altogether) Staying at this hostel is a good chance to experience living in a typical eastern europe apartment so if you've never had a chance to do this, you should.

The hosts are some of the friendliest people we've encountered - they made our stay super enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom was always fresh. The location is not so bad - but it is a subway ride from most places of interest. However, a subway station is just a 10 minute walk from the hostel, which we found to be rather okay. This isn't a party hostel, but more of a relaxed, super clean, small hostel. In a way, more like a guest house than a hostel. The hosts are also very eager to please, offering tea whenever you come home and willingly sharing some Romanian specialties with you. If we ever go back to Bucharest, we will definitely stay at Hostel Tina again.

Constantin is a generous host who made us feel welcome in his home. We always had great conversations with him and he was helpful in offering advice on Bucharest. He greeted us with tea and a snack upon our arrival! The place is a quick walk to the metro which will get you anywhere you need to go in town & there are plenty of ameneties within walking distance from the hostel - it is great to spend time in a neighbourhood in Bucharest you may not otherwise visit. I'd highly recommend this place to stay for anyone who wants to feel at home while on the road and who wants to learn more about Romania and the culture of this beautiful country as Constantin is a great source!

Staying at Constantin's Hostel Tina is more like a home stay really - at a friend's place with all you could hope to find there: a warm smile, interesting talks, a good cup of tea or coffee, helpful advice on the city and country - oh, and for those who are on the rock side of life: Constantin's collection has great stuff on offer! The small and comfortable hostel is newly renovated and most probably the cleanest I've ever stayed in (and I've travelled a lot :-)). As to what the location is concerned, when getting there I thought it would have been more convenient to have stayed in the city center, but actually the metro takes you downtown quickly and I would not have wanted to have missed the insight into how Bucharestians live. The lakes and park nearby are a great place for a quiet walk or rest after a day in the buzzling city center. I will definitely come back!

If you are looking for somewhere that you can relax and chill out then this is the place to be - great set up in the dorm room (only 4 beds) with couches, TV, computer etc. The teas on offer are very good, try the mint tea with a touch of milk.

I have visited Hostel Tina twice, so now it is already very easy for me to find the place, and it wasn't too difficult even the first time. It is very nice to go to a hostel but still feel like visiting a friend, that's maybe the best part. The hostel is located close to a big park, so those who like to exercise outdoors will find this an ideal place.

Very cosy atmosphere, you are in the middle of Romanian family life (this is also their home). I have never met a hostel owner that offers coffee, tea etc. for free. Had some problems with guests who did not think much about other people, but that is not hostel' s fault. Air/conditiioning would be needed, room was very hot.

Def not a party hostel, but if you want some place chill and still easily accessible by Metro, this is a great option. Also, it's right around the corner from a big fruit/veg market, which is convenient.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Free 24hr internet PC in your room plus flat screen TV. Everything is spotlessly clean. The owner Constantin is so friendly and helpful. He is always there and nothing is too much trouble for him. The hostel is convenient for the metro and trams and there is a lovely park with a beautiful lake nearby. Also, don't believe everything you hear about Bucharest - just be sensible and you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Constantin, the owner, is a very helpful and friendly guy. He is available 24 hours a day also - superhuman effort. The 4x room is very spacious, with lots of room to breathe and a very comfortable seating area. The free internet access came as a welcome surprise. The hostel is located only 4 metro stops away from the centre of town, whilst still being in a quiet neighbourhood. Alot of travel and tourist information was provided in hard copy that proved very useful. Private television and dvd playing facilities.

This hostel is very comfortable, and definitely a place to relax and gather yourself. Not too far from the city center for partying at night. Several times a day, I was offered free tea or coffee from the staff. The first night, I was offered a meal (not a regular thing). very helpful and cozy.

My room had a flat TV with Satellite TV, a PC always online, Constantin was extremely helpful and I had the greatest time. Location is 10 minutes from the underground sttation, that for me is a bit too much, but in Bucharest taxis are really cheap so it wasn't so much of a problem. I will come back for sure! It's quiet and cozy.

It's a really good place to stay in Bucharest. It's quite near of the city center, just 3 metro station. The place is really clean, and the host try to do everything he can to make your stay as better as he can. I will recomend definitely the place and I would go back to the same place. Constantin was very helpful in my stay. He gave me maps, valuable instructions, romanian dictionaries and very good tea. The apartment is very clear and has all that a traveller needs. The hostel is not at the center of Bucharest, where you find the most of the historical buildings. But staying here, you will have an unique opportunity and will feel how the life is in Bucharest.

This hostel is based in a tower block that is common to much of the old eastern block. This should not deter you though as the beauty of this hostel is Constantin who runs the hostel. He is the perfect host being both friendly and helpful. He is there to accomodate you 24*7, and even got up for a chat until 4am one night, and got up at 8am to make sure we were up to catch our plane home. The hostel is very clean and has good features, and it is well worth a stay if you are visiting Bucharest.

The hostel was very clean and confortable, indeed it was like being home. Constantin ois very helpful and he is always tehre to aid you in what you need. If you arrive late, however, I suggest that you ask for a taxi at the airport if you dont know if your flight is going to get delayed. There is a lot of offer at the airport. My plane got delayed for 1 hour and my luggage took about 40 minutes to get out, and when I got out, Constantin was not there. He had agreed to pick me up for 70 Ron, but whe I called him and he got there, he doubled the price, saying that he had waited for me a long time. If you ask Constantin to pick you up at the airport, make sure that you do agree on a price and he wont change it.

It's a bit out of the way but not far from the metro stop- i was by myself and arrived late at night- have to say i was a bit scared trying to find the hostel late at night. But Constantine is a star very friendly.

Constantine is a lovely guy and very concerned that you enjoy your time there. It is 'just' an apartment in an anonymous nest of highrise but you are made to feel very welcome and the kettle is ALWAYS on. Beds are good and the lift has character. Hey, it's a budget hostel so you get what you pay for but it is clean, very friendly, and a good fit for Bucharest.

Constantine is the coolest. He is really proud of his high rating and does everything he can to keep it. its 2007. why everywhere dosen't have a wireless router is beyond me. Constantine has one and a computer in each room, too...free. Personally, I really liked the location. I saw a part of town I never would have seen, otherwise. The lake, nearby is peaceful and I felt like Constantine was going way out of his way for me.

From giving you metro maps, to offering you slippers...to putting on DVDs for you...to having your mint tea made for you ready when you get up at 6.30am. I enjoyed a lot this hostel because while i was there it really felt like being at home! The staff is very friendly, respectfull and helpful. The place is very clean, there is internet in the room and you can have a nice coffee or tea together with a nice talk with the staff or the other travelers. It felt very safe, home-like and therefore closer to the locals way of living. If i get back to Bucharest i will book the same place. I definitely recomend it!

I really enjoyed staying in this hostel. It's small and very quiet, but has a great, comfortable atmosphere. The people that run it are unbelievably friendly and I felt very safe there. It's a bit hard to find at first but once you're there, it's only a short walk to the metro station and on the way are shops, supermarkets, a fruit market and lots of small parks - it's really nice.

Overall, the place is like a home from home...Tina and her boyfriend are like that favourite aunt and uncle! A great place to stay! I only intended to stay 1 night...but ended up staying 4!
